Walter B Shillington I despise clutter and loathe the time and effort wasted untangling the snake’s nest of cables. To alleviate this problem, I decided to purchase a unit capable of quickly charging all my electronic toys at once. When I began my search, I discovered that several manufacturers had developed charging stations that were designed somewhat like a bookrack. My cellphones, Kindle, and tablet could all be stored atop the station and, when their batteries ran low, recharged through the unit’s USB outputs. After checking out the specifications of several likely candidates, I purchased Vogek’s five-port charging station.
Description
The central unit of this charging station weighs 14 ounces. It is 6.5 inches wide and five inches deep. The station rises 1.4 inches but, once the ABS dividers are inserted, overall height increases to 3.1. Five standard USB ports are fitted to the front of this 50W, 10A charging station. Each of these five-volt ports can handle up to two amps of current. Smart Charging Technology automatically identifies multiple connected devices and their charging requirements. Each port of the USB charger delivers exactly the right amount of power to meet the devices’ needs. Please note, however, that this station does not support Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0. Short-circuit, over-voltage, over-current, over-charge, and overheat protection are employed to ensure the safety of connected devices. An input AC voltage of 100V – 240V is required. Unlike many of the oversized plugs associated with electronic devices, the power plug for this station will not crowd its neighbors. Six ABS plastic dividers are provided. They can be inserted into slots located on the upper surface of the station. Up to five electronic devices may be placed vertically atop the station. Vogek provided four short USB to Lightning connector cables, which are used to charge Apple products. Also included were two USB to C connector cables and two USB to micro USB cables. Vogek recommends utilizing the cables that came with the devices that are being charged. However, because the Vogek cables are shorter, I generally use them to connect my equipment.

Visual Appeal
This device is a short flat box with what appears to be a row of cooling fins pushing up from the top. These fins—actually they are plastic dividers—hold and separate the devices being charged. The eight supplied USB cables are short enough to minimize clutter.
Durability
All ports performed correctly, without indications of overheating. The dividers proved sturdy enough to provide support for my seven-inch tablet.
Capability
I was able to charge two phones, a Kindle, and a Lenovo table simultaneously. The time required to charge a single device did not increase when additional equipment was connected to the station.
Overall Impression
This station allows for storage of up to five electronic devices and, if required, is perfectly capable of charging all of them simultaneously. If you want to reduce clutter, increase storage, and provide a method of quickly charging your devices, Vogek’s five-port charging station is an excellent option. Questions & Answers
Question: Did you have any trouble getting the dividers into the Vogek charging station? I just took delivery of mine and can’t seem to get the dividers to fit. Answer: I recall that it was a tight fit but all of my dividers snapped into place. A tight fit is good because the dividers will give proper support to the heavier devices being charged. Of course, if the dividers don’t fit at all, the charging station will not be of much use. Question: This looks very good to me. Can you give me the price of this item? © 2019 Walter Shillington
